Wildflower Walks and Talks with Jim Burbank, April 25-May 7
Daily walks with our in house naturalist to areas where wildflowers are in bloom.
Evening illustrated talks each evening.

Digital Nature Photography  Workshop with Ricke Hester, May 16-18
Ever wanted to capture those stunning mountain views off the front porch at the Hemlock Inn? Well this is a great opportunity for you to learn how to do so. Enjoy the normal Hemlock Inn experience with the added bonus of learning a new trade and capturing those great shots you can cherish for years to come. This FREE photo workshop is designed for both budding and experienced DSL photographers and is held at the Inn. Some topics to be included are:
- Exploring the functions of the digital camera
- Nuts and bolts of nature photography including composition, exposure, color and light
- Power of light
- Advanced functions of the digital camera
There will also be ample time for practical outdoor shooting in the beautiful surrounding area at the Inn and at Deep Creek in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The instructor will be Ricke Hester, long time Hemlock Inn guest and owner of Hester Photography in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
