Fishing
Stream, lake and pond fishing areas are available in the area.

You may fish one of the rivers or streams in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Fishing licenses are required and may be purchased at Clampitt Hardware in Bryson City.

On Lake Fontana, rent a boat and gear at Almond Boat Dock.

Directions: Take Hwy. 19/74 Southwest toward Nantahala. Where the four-lane ends, bear right on Hwy. 28 toward Fontana Dam. At the first road on your right, you will see a sign for Almond Boat Dock.

You may also visit one of several trout farms in the area. This is especially fun for the youngsters. We suggest Cooper Creek Trout Farm.

Directions: Turn left on Hwy. 19. Go about 1½ miles and turn left on Cooper Creek Road. The farm is located at the end of the road.

We can arrange guided fly fishing trips for ½ or full day upon request. These guided trips include all equipment. We can also usually arrange fly fishing clinics here at the inn.
