Hemlock Inn is a rustic country bed and breakfast inn, located on the quiet side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (See our guide). Lodging ideally
situated near Bryson City, Cherokee, and Fontana Lake, it is informal,
unpretentious and beautifully situated on 50 wooded acres on top of
a small mountain overlooking three valleys to the big mountains across
the way. There is a friendly atmosphere and genuine warmth that
comes from the personal attention only a small inn can provide. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked country breakfast included
in your rate. A hearty dinner package is also available.
Rustic, but not primitive, the vintage Inn has 22 rooms and three cabin rentals with authentic country furniture. Unlike large resorts, Hemlock Inn has no tennis courts, swimming pool, or TV sets... and no daily schedules aside from breakfast and dinner hours. But that is what our guests like about Hemlock Inn. Guests, many of whom return each year, come for a change of pace, a change of scene, genuine home cooking, and simple pleasures of the Inn. They come to visit the Bryson City and Great Smokies area, but they also come for the unique experience and friendly attitude Hemlock Inn offers.
During the summer, we are cooled by gentle mountain breezes, cross ventilation and ceiling fans in every room. While some air conditioners are available upon request, evening temperatures are usually cool and comfortable.

Guests are welcome as friends and treated like family. Sitting on the porch or around the lazy susan tables, guests quickly make new aquaintances and share their experiences of the day. There is a genuine family lodging atmosphere at the inn. Hemlock Inn hosts many family reunions and gatherings of friends. Children of all ages are welcomed and enjoyed.
Located adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this bed and breakfast lodge is only three miles from the Deep Creek area of the park. There you can hike to several waterfalls, fish, picnic or ride a tube down the river. We are also just three miles from the quaint mountain village of Bryson City, and seven miles from Cherokee Indian Reservation.
Hemlock Inn specializes in simple pleasures...like watching the sun rise over the mountains with a steaming cup of coffee in hand...like the crackle of logs and the smell of woodsmoke on a crisp mountain day...like sitting on the front porch watching the mountains and chatting with friends, old and new.
Hemlock Inn invites
you to get away from your schedules as you enjoy our family style meals, enjoy the company of new and old
friends and family, and enjoy the beauty and many activities of the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Is the Hemlock Inn the right getaway for you?
The new book 101 Best Outdoor Towns named Bryson City as the third best outdoor town in the country: "This speck on the North Carolina map, sandwiched between the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Nantahala National Forest, packs a heavier dose of mountain biking, hiking, and paddling adrenaline per capita than nearly any other town in the East".
